HOW WE GOT STARTED
The Anderson Center was started by people in Anderson County who saw the need for education about substance use disorders (SUD) and for new ways to help more people find recovery. The first ALL Recovery Meeting was held August of 2018 at the Center Presbyterian Church. The Anderson Center opened at its current location in August 2019.
IN PERSON MEETINGS
ALL RECOVERY: Monday, Thursday and Friday at Noon. Wednesday at 6:00 PM.

“Recovery from substance use disorder is a reality in the lives of millions, and because of FAVOR that is true for me.”

More
Ruthanne found recovery in a 12-step program in 1997. She believes that staying connected with people in recovery is key to her long-term sobriety. Over the years she has volunteered with Shalom House Ministries in Belton SC, helping women in early recovery. Her recent retirement from her 31-year career in manufacturing has allowed her to pursue her passion for helping others even more. Curious about FAVOR when its chapter opened in Anderson SC in August 2018, she attended their first All Recovery meeting. She found that FAVOR’s “multiple pathways” approach, All Recovery and Family Group meetings, and the concept of “meeting people where they are” fueled her passion even more. She took recovery coach training shortly afterwards and started coaching participants. After a year of volunteering with FAVOR, she accepted a part-time recovery coach position in Anderson.
