Topic: Compassionate Prenatal Care Influences Sustainable Recovery

Bio: Katrina Quick, MD, completed her full spectrum rural family medicine residency at the University of Wyoming Family Medicine Residency program in Casper, WY. During her surgical fellowship in Spokane, WA she became acutely aware of the negative impact that certain health disparities, such as behavioral health, substance use disorder and high-risk social situations, can have on pregnant mothers and their unborn infants, and what a difference a support system can make. Katrina is grounded in the philosophy that health is a basic human right and aims to deliver equitable care for all patients, free of judgment.

Bio: Melicia Tanner is a Licensed Professional Counselor and works as the Behavioral Health Curriculum Director for the Seneca Family Medicine Residency Program. She has a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Clemson University, a master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling from Lipscomb University and is pursuing a doctoral degree in Community Care and Counseling from Liberty University. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her husband, Joe, and their dog, reading, serving with her church, baking and board game nights with friends.
